On December 23, members of the State Legislature recognized the opening of a Level 3 Fast EV charging station at 131 Morse in Foxborough. Owner Tim Maloof installed three units, which will service six cars at the same time. Level 3 EV chargers are hard to find, given the expense of the units and the site work. But Maloof took advantage of an incentive program offered by National Grid and supported by the state.
“I am looking to redevelop certain aspects of the property,” said Maloof of what was for years called the old glue factory. “I think these chargers will be an attraction for people who hopefully visit current and future shops.”
State Representative Michael Chassion presented a citation to Maloof from the House of Representatives, as well as a citation from Senator Paul Feeny’s office. “I think Foxborough should be proud it now has such a service close by,” Chassion stated. “There are very few in the Greater Attlwboro area.”
Level 3 chargers deliver direct current (DC) power directly to an electric vehicle battery. The stations are open 24/7 in a spacious parking lot easily accessible from Foxborough and Mansfield. Level 3 chargers can add 60 to 80 miles of range in just 20 minutes, making them ideal for long-distance travel and quick stops. Further details can be found on most EV charger applications.
