Power Up Anywhere with a Modern EV Charging Station in MA
Whether you want to charge your car at home overnight or add charging stations to your business parking lot, East Coast Renewable Energy installs the right EV charging solution for your situation. We handle site assessment, permitting, electrical work, and utility coordination — everything from quote to go-live — for both residential and commercial customers across Massachusetts.
Types of EV Chargers We Install
Not all chargers are the same. The right level depends on your location, usage, and how quickly you need vehicles charged.
Level 1 EV Charging (120V)
Level 2 EV Charging (240V)
Level 2 is the most common choice for both homes and workplaces. It adds 20–30 miles of range per hour and fully charges most EVs overnight. Installation requires a 240V circuit — similar to a dryer outlet. This is ECR’s most-requested residential and commercial install.

Level 3 / DC Fast Charging
DC Fast Chargers (DCFC) can charge an EV to 80% in 20–30 minutes. These are built for high-traffic commercial locations — retail centers, fleet depots, hospitality properties, and municipalities that need rapid vehicle turnover. Level 3 requires significant electrical infrastructure and is not typically suitable for residential use.

Residential EV Charger Installation in Massachusetts
Most EV owners want the convenience of charging at home. A Level 2 home charger plugs into your garage or driveway and means you start every morning with a full charge. ECR handles the full residential install — electrical panel assessment, 240V circuit installation, charger mounting, and permit filing.

Commercial EV Charging Station Installation in MA
Commercial properties benefit from EV charging in several ways: attracting EV-driving customers, qualifying for state and federal incentive programs, and generating revenue through charging fees. ECR designs commercial EV charging setups for:
- Retail and restaurant parking lots
- Office and workplace parking
- Hotels and hospitality properties
- Multi-family housing and apartment complexes
- Municipal and government facilities
- Fleet vehicles and depots
Massachusetts EV Charging Incentives (MassEVIP)
Massachusetts has one of the strongest EV charging incentive stacks in the country. Most commercial projects qualify for multiple programs that can be layered together.
- MassEVIP (Massachusetts Electric Vehicle Incentive Program)
Administered by MassDEP, MassEVIP provides grants covering a significant share of hardware and installation costs. The amount depends on your location type:
- Public locations (non-government): 80% of Level 2 hardware and installation costs, up to $50,000 per address. Government-owned locations qualify for 100%, up to $50,000. Chargers must be publicly accessible at least 12 hours per day.
- Workplace and fleet charging: 60% of Level 1 or Level 2 charger costs, up to $50,000 per address. Requires 15 or more employees on site.
- Multi-family housing and educational campuses: 60% of Level 1 or Level 2 charger costs, up to $50,000 per address. Applies to properties with 5 or more residential units or campuses with 15 or more students on site.
Applications are accepted first-come, first-served until funds are exhausted.
2. Utility Make-Ready Programs (stackable with MassEVIP)
National Grid and Eversource both cover up to 100% of electrical infrastructure upgrade costs for Level 2 installations. National Grid customers can receive up to $3,900 per Level 2 station and up to $80,000 per port for DC fast chargers. Public access sites can stack utility funding directly on top of MassEVIP grants.
3. Federal 30C Tax Credit
Expired June 30, 2026. No longer available for new installations.
ECR identifies every program your project qualifies for — including stacking opportunities — before installation begins.

The EV Charger Installation Process
Step 1 — Site Assessment
We visit your property to evaluate electrical capacity, parking layout, trenching requirements (for outdoor installs), and which charger model fits your needs.
Step 2 — Design and Permitting
We design the electrical layout and file all required permits with your local municipality and utility. Commercial projects may also require utility coordination for load upgrades.
Step 3 — Installation
Our licensed electricians install conduit, wiring, the charging unit, and any required panel upgrades. Most residential installs are completed in one day. Commercial installs vary by scope.
Step 4 — Inspection and Activation
We coordinate the municipal electrical inspection and work with your utility to ensure the system is code-compliant and activated correctly.
Pairing EV Charging with Solar
Already considering solar — or already have panels? ECR can design an integrated solar + EV charging system that lets you charge your vehicle directly from renewable energy you generate on-site. This combination maximizes energy savings and reduces grid dependence.
